GDPR Post-Brexit. What Now? | Storm Internet
We recently posted a blog about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules passed by the European Council and Parliament. Click here to read. What do these mean for us now, post-Brexit?
We are still part of the European Union. Nothing has changed yet. We are still bound by the laws passed by the EU and will be for some time. Brexit won’t happen immediately as there are a lot of legal processes to go through first and it could take up to two years. So until then, the GDPR rules still affect the UK.
Therefore, businesses still need to prepare themselves to comply with the GDPR for the immediate future. And, as we mentioned in our previous blog, the penalties for non-compliance are so high that businesses really do need to find out what is required of them.
So if you are confused or concerned about what you need to do to comply we can assist you through the process.
