How Joomla 3.5 will improve the user’s viewing experience | Storm Internet
With the arrival of Joomla 3.5, it looks like there is going to be a lot of improvement in this outstanding CMS platform. Developers, as well as administrators are going to love the new version of the platform, which has been focused on improving the speed and performance aspects of the system.
But, that is not all, which the users will get on using the latest Joomla. Over thirty new features have been added to the regime. Being built on PHP and MySQL ensures that the project will deliver full-fledged support from PHP 7 leading to faster loading of websites.
Faster performance with less memory usage
Joomla 3.5 is said to include the following features:
- Notifications through email for keeping the software updated.
- Export of Joomla information, which is anonymously sent with the aid of streamline aspects.
- Editors will now support drag and drop features for images.
- Modules can now be inserted right into the articles besides the templates.
- TinyMCE Editor has been added, which will include buttons for adding in modules into articles.
The best part would be that Joomla 3.5 will support Zend’s PHP 7 for improving all such features like the ones mentioned above. The version is now available for users as well. Analysts predict that the new version will offer twice the speed to run all the data with half the memory usage. Even if you are not updated to PHP 7, you can still use the new platform with an older version of PHP, which is also fully supported by the 3.5 version.
What else is new?
Joomla updates will now be easily notified to the users and developers through emails. Joomla releases, bug fixes and other updates will all be given to the users through the emails. These updates were previously restricted as users had to log in to the Joomla back-end system for getting all such updates. But, now all can be grabbed through the emails.
Included features:
- Protostar will support CSS file: The Protostar template was not able to use a .css file when customized by the users. However, users will now be able to add in a customized CSS file to the template.
- Front and back-end links can now be shown or hidden using switches to the module mod_status.
- Articles that have been published, trashed or unpublished can now be properly presented using category manager.
- Emails can now be tested with just one click.
- UX editor buttons will now be added to the main editor for letting users insert modules in the articles.
