Storm Internet’s ISO 27001 and 9001 Success | Storm Internet

It’s been a year in the making and Storm Internet, a leading managed hosting provider, are delighted to announce achieving the internationally accredited ISO 27001 and 9001 status – meaning they’ve been independently audited and verified to the very highest security and quality standards.

Storm take their commitment to data security exceptionally seriously, which is why they decided to go a step further than most hosting providers. The Storm Security Centre already provides customers with highly secure hosting, but they wanted to go that one step further to ensure customers could feel safe in the knowledge their data is protected to the highest possible industry standards. Most hosting providers point to their data centres for ISO certification, which are required to be compliant, but Storm decided to ensure their entire infrastructure could meet the stringent requirements of the ISO/IEC. This means Storm are now a hosting provider that ticks all the boxes.

Gaining both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification was a huge undertaking. A process that took almost a year, working closely with accredited certification auditors throughout. They reviewed the current security policies via risk assessment and risk treatment plans, where Storm were pleased to receive very positive feedback. Then, once the infrastructure had been reviewed and suggestions made, Storm worked tirelessly to put in place new procedures and update previous policies in order to undertake the next, more stringent stage.

The formal audit took place where several days were spent having detailed interviews followed by further analysis of the systems, highlighting where Storm were able to offer even more to their customers. It was found to be a very positive step.

Following the final, successful audit the ISO 27001 and 9001 certificates was issued to Storm Internet in April 2019.

They are now demonstrating their dedication to protecting customers and their end-users from credit card fraud, confidentiality breaches and cyber threats by storing, transmitting and processing data as securely as possible. Not all hosting providers can say that.
